Description
Handcarved wooden plaque made for the City of Cranbourne. Round, carved, polished timber, wide border with bas relief text "CITY OF CRANBOURNE/ 1994". Bas relief mage in centre of plaque shows crops, livestock, industry and mountains. This formed the City of Cranbourne logo.

The City of Cranbourne was a former Local Government Area/Authority of Victoria, which ceased to exist in 1994, when it was split between the then newly formed City of Casey, Cardinia Shire and City of Frankston. The City of Cranbourne existed only in 1994, prior to that being the Cranbourne Shire. As such this object is a unique rarity, documenting a short-lived logo and council.
