Description
Square white marble paperweight with brass plate attached to top surface. The brass plate shows a fountain logo and text "The City of Springfield Ohio Bicentennial / 1801 - 2001" with four stars in either side of the dates. Four green felt stoppers beneath base.

A small brochure accompanying the object reads "Bicentennial Celebration/ 1801 2001/ The emblem on the/ paperweight is an artist's/ rendition of the fountain/ on Springfield's Esplanade/ which was dedicated on/ October 24, 1993. This/ fountain is the second/ fountain in Springfield's/ history to be erected on/ the Esplanade./ Since 1826, the Esplanade/ has been the center of/ Springfield and Clark/ County. On July 4, 1889, the/ first Esplanade fountain was/ dedicated approximately one/ year after the City Building,/ now the Heritage Center,/ was completed."
