Description
Watercolour depicting the Cranbourne Post Office. The title is inscribed in the lower left and the artist's signature and date appear in the lower right. The work is framed with dual mats of coffee and cream colours.

The Cranbourne Post Office, Court House and Shire Offices (former) complex, constructed in stages between 1875 and 1913, are located at Sladen Street, Cranbourne. Historically, the building is significant as the first permanent offices of the Shire of Cranbourne and is the oldest municipal building in the West Gippsland region. Socially, it is significant as a building that was the focus of civic and community life in Cranbourne over a long period and has strong associations with the local community. It is an integral part of the identity of the former Shire of Cranbourne.
