The Agreement on the left, including both the City of Casey logo and Ioannina logo, includes the text “FRIENDSHIP/ AGREEMENT/ The City of Casey, Melbourne, Australia and the Municipality/ of Ioannina, Greece believe that the development of friendly/ relations and co-operation between the two cities on a people-/ to-people basis and the promotion of mutual understanding/ and goodwill between the citizens of both cities will greatly/ greatly contribute to the intensification of friendly relations between/ Australia and Greece, consequently playing a significant role/ in the peace and prosperity around the world./ The two cities will contribute to develop friendly relations for/ the promotion of a wide range of exchange activities in such/ fields as commerce, culture, sports, education, technology,/ tourism and the like./ It is for the confirmation of the above that both Mayors/ hereby affix their signatures to this agreement on/ the SIXTH day of November, 1998./ Lefteris Glinavos/ Mayor/ Municipality of Ioannina/ John Hastie/ Mayor/ City of Casey”
