Description
Photolithograph depicting Masson Range, Antarctica, with wind scour. The image shows details of a steep and rocky landscape in the foreground, a wind scour pattern in the mid-ground, and distant ranges in the background. Two distant figures are also depicted in the upper left, above the wind scoured range. The work is editioned, titled and signed by the artist.

This print is part of the series "Antarctica in black and white: A portfolio of 24 photo-lithographs" made of pen and ink drawings by Fred Elliott. They are based on photographs that the artist took during the Australian Antarctic Research Expedition (ANARE) to Heard Island in 1953 and Mawson in 1955 and 1958. The portfolio of 24 photolithographs is an edition of 40, plus a lettered edition of 50 and two workshop proofs. They were printed in 1997 by the Australian Print Workshop.
